When the end is in sight, especially for people anxious to get done with something, they'll often tell you exactly how many days they have left and then add, tongue-in-cheek, "But who's counting!"

Well, I'm personally not anxious to be done with this, but we do have a show to put on! So trust me, we're counting!

  • 18 days till opening night!

  • 183 tickets sold—hoping for hundreds more!

  • 40 or so group rehearsal hours left to get blocking fixed!

  • 3 performances (I'm sad about this number!)

I could go on and on. But let's count our blessings, too!

  • 27 cast members, 5 musicians, 6 on the production team, and at least 10 at The Junction Center who are working together with God-given heart and talent to bring this story to the stage!

  • 6 people I personally know who are seriously committed to praying for us!

  • Donors, sponsors, churches, friends, family and pets, whose support is immeasurable!

  • 1 powerful blessing sent to me this morning by a cast member, written by Jenny Gallo of Carrot Top Studio: Pentecost isn't just a story of wind and flame—it's a story of gifting. A moment when ordinary people received extraordinary grace, and were called to speak, move, and create in new ways. As an artist, I often think of the Holy Spirit not only as comforter, but as spark—igniting creativity, daring us to step into unfamiliar territory, and illuminating what's possible when we respond to our calling with open hands.

Holy Spirit, our hands are wide open as we respond to your calling. Thank you for the flame that has burst forth from your spark! Like the Olympic torch bearers, may we faithfully carry what you have entrusted to us before we officially light the stage on opening night.

In the days ahead (especially for folks local to southcentral PA)

  • Beginning June 12, listen for radio promos for the musical on WJTL (FM 90.3) and WDAC (FM 94.5)

  • On June 18, look for a front-page story in The Merchandiser

  • On June 19 @ 7:00 AM, listen to Fred McNaughton and I discuss the musical on "The Morning Show" on WJTL (FM 90.3)

Have you seen this info flyer around at your church or workplace? We'd love if you would help circulate it either for digital newsletters or bulletin boards in churches and grocery stores! Click here to download

I got chills of delight and anticipation reading this blog post, dear Lisa! The Holy Spirit is at work through your work of this musical, and He will bring it together in a powerful and deeply moving way -- because that's just what He does. I'm so glad that Jenny Gallo's quote arrived just in time to show up in this blog post and to inspire all of us to step out with the creativity the Spirit has uniquely given to each of us. God always says "yes" to our desire to fully show up for His glory and purposes. Thank you for leading the way, Lisa!

Thank you for sending the quote, Rila! It was the perfect touch to finish the post. Also, in Exodus 31:1-5, we are told that Bezalel—an artist and culture-creator—was the first person to be filled with the Spirit of God: "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.'" God is truly our Maker, and he infuses us with…
